ABOUT US

WATERMARK MISSION is a Faith-based, Disaster Recovery Organization.

Our purpose is to assist in rebuilding the homes and lives of disaster survivors.

Our name evolved from the nature of our mission work.  From the beginning, our group has helped to rebuild homes and lives in areas where flood water caused damage and devastation. And the word mark refers to the marks left by the nails on Jesus’ hands and feet.

We strive to use our hands, feet, talents and love to share Jesus’ compassion and love with disaster survivors. We are inspired by the prayer of St. Teresa of Avila: "Lord Christ, you have no body on earth, but ours, no hands, but ours, no feet, but ours. Ours are the eyes through which your compassion must look out on the world. Ours are the feet by which you may still go about doing good. Ours are the hands with which YOU bless people now. Bless our minds and our bodies, that we may be a blessing to others."

Our present day mission group now officially named "Watermark Mission"; has grown from an original team of 26 volunteers to about 55 volunteers. We now operate through the Catholic Parish of St. Henry, Eau Galle, Wisconsin- Diocese of La Crosse. We do have a strong base of Catholic volunteers as per our beginnings, however; our volunteer ranks include people from many faiths, those who do not profess a particular faith and people from all walks of life.
